About the Artist

Although I have never had an art lesson, when I look at the collection of art books, magazines and videos, saying that I am 'self taught" is really a bit of a stretch.  While I am constantly striving to improve my knowledge and skills, it seems as though the more I learn, the more aware I am of how much I don't know.

Looking for a hobby, I began painting fifteen years ago.  I started with oils, but became impatient with drying times and have found that acrylics are more suitable for my style of painting.

A few years ago, I decided to retire and now I can devote as much time as I please to my avocation.   Lately, I have begun experimenting with a more Impressionistic approach (Cornfield and Marsh Swamp, 2009) using acrylics and my enthusiasm has just shifted into another gear.
