I am a landscape painter.  While in my early 50's, I needed a hobby to take my mind off the business of owning and operating a restaurant.  I found the perfect answer. I discovered that when I paint, I became so immersed in the process that all else was erased from my mind. I have had no formal training, but have accumulated a library of art books and taped lessons by many of the best art instructors available, through which I have manged to hone skills I never knew I posessed. It was a revelation and the beginning of another life.     

Since my retirement, I have devoted most of my free time to my painting avocation and the establishment of a visual arts presence in my hometown of Oswego, New York.  This has resulted in the founding and opening of an Artist Coop,  Lakeside Artisans', LLC, in March of 2011, for which I serve as President and Business Manager.  We provide a much needed venue for local member artists and artisans to display and sell their work.

AWARDS

I gathered up my nerve and entered a painting in my first show/competiton in 2003.  To my surpise, it received an Award.  In the years since, I have been lucky enough to have successfully competed in numerous art shows/competitions sponsored by central New York art associations:  Fulton Art Association, Art Association of Oswego, Central New York Art Guild, Salmon River Art Association, Syracuse Council For The Arts and the Rome Art Guild, in addition to the statewide competition of the New York State Fair Juried Art Show.
